We had an early start (and a non-working alarm clock again -- I think the phone is fired). A quick stop in town to pick up breakfast (those pies Ryan was eyeing yesterday -- they are open from 7am to 3pm, so he missed out last night) and chains and we were hitting the road.
The first bit didn't seem that spectacular. Pretty similar to the drive in, actually. About a half hour into the drive it started to change. Things were getting hillier, and the trees were closing in on the road. And then the film crew appeared around the bend. We were stopped for a few minutes and the guy offered us some mints. The packaging was rather fitting for the situation.
I went a little snap happy on the drive. The sun was out, it was early morning lighting... okay, it was breathtaking. I don't think the photos even begin to capture how awe-inspiring the views were, but I'll share some of them. Unfortunately, we had a boat to catch, so they were all taken through the campervan's windows, so there is a bit of glare in a lot of them. Ryan was keeping his eyes firmly on the road, and missed a lot of it. Poor guy, but I'm grateful he got us there and back again in one piece!
Photos to come! I promise!
